Rain, Street Circuits and a Podium: Backing Clay Osborne at the GC500

27.10.26

Bastion Group is proud to sponsor Clay Osborne in the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia at the GC500 last weekend.

The rain made the streets of Surfers Paradise slippery and hard to read, and that put every driver on the grid to the test. Clay kept his composure in the tricky conditions and finished third in Race 1. It was a well-earned podium and a great result for him and the Tekworkx Motorsport team.

The result caps a strong year for the young New Zealander. In just his second full Carrera Cup season, Clay has won races at the Australian Grand Prix and in Darwin, and he currently leads the PorscheMichelin Junior rankings. His form has also been noticed further afield. Porsche Motorsport Australia has nominated him for the international PorscheJunior Shootout in Portimão, Portugal, next month. The winner earns a scholarship towards a season in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, which races on the Formula 1 support program.

It’s an exciting time for Clay. We’re grateful to play a small part in his journey and can’t wait to see what comes next, first in Portugal and then at the final round of the Carrera Cup.

Finally, a big thank you to everyone who came out to support at the GC500, rain and all. The crowd made it a weekend to remember.
